Cold mornings when the field was empty.
She was always there.
Years later, when she finally stepped into a professional stadium for the first time, the lights were blinding. Thousands of people filled the stands.
Her heart pounded.
This was the moment she had dreamed about since she was six.
The match started fast. The opposing team was strong, and the score stayed 0–0 for most of the game.
Then, in the last five minutes, the ball rolled toward Elena just outside the penalty box.
Time slowed.
The crowd held its breath.
She remembered every street game. Every laugh. Every person who said she couldn’t.
She took one step.
Then another.
And she struck the ball.
The shot curved through the air like it had a mind of its own.

The stadium exploded.
People jumped from their seats. Flags waved. Commentators shouted her name.
That night, the headline across every sports page said the same thing:

But for Elena, the title wasn’t the most important thing.
What mattered was something else.
